About the Practical Course

The field of Mammalian Genetics has undergone a great expansion during the last decades.

The laboratory mouse is widely used all over the world as a model to answer many of the questions raised by geneticists.

   

This two-week course offers a training opportunity to South American Research Scientists and Veterinarians in the most prominent areas of Mammalian Genetics.

This course will be aimed to graduated and Ph.D. students, post-docs and young independent investigators who are interested in the fields of Rodent Genetics.


Practical content is designed to teach the most important techniques in molecular genetics that allow to carry out genetic mapping, genetic monitoring of inbred strains and to analyze mouse embryos developmental stages. It will include all aspects of in vitro fertilization and embryonic stem cell culture.

The official language will be English, but support will be given in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
