About the Workshop

"In Europe this course has been a popular part of the EMBO curriculum and offers instruction in state-of-the-art electron microscopy for different applications in cell biology. It is now being offered as a World Course".

The course covers specimen preparation, negative staining, cryo EM, Epon embedding, the Tokuyasu cryosection method for immunogold labelling, tomography as well as stereology(the methods used to quantify structural parameters).


Some of the selected students are likely to either have no experience in EM or limited exposure.

Each participant will be encouraged to bring his/her own specimens for limited analysis during the course.

COURSE FINANCING

All the costs of the course will be covered by EMBO, Office of Life Sciences, National University of Singapore and Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Singapore.

There will be no registration costs. Food and housing will also be covered.

However, the cost and transport to and from Singapore must be covered by the participants themselves.
