The interface between the ubiquitin

family and the DNA damage response

September 1st - 5th | 2010 | Red Island | Rovinj | Croatia

About the Workshop

Registration and abstract submission open until August 10, 2010

( *abstracts received after 3rd July can only be considered for posters)

Maintenance of genomic stability and integrity is essential for cellular homeostasis.

A central axis in the maintenance of genomic stability is the DNA damage response (DDR) – a complex signaling network that is activated by DNA damage, spanning DNA repair, damage tolerance pathways and cell cycle checkpoints, and modulating numerous cellular processes.

Protein ubiquitination or SUMOylation is emerging as a major signal in the DDR, in addition to other post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation.

The convergence of the DDR and the ubiquitin family systems is creating an interface between these fields that calls for exchange of ideas, methods and reagents between investigators working in one of these areas and among researchers who already find themselves in this busy intersection.

The workshop aims to bring these investigators together, give them a forum to present their data, interact with fellow scientists and form new collaborations. It will highlight young investigators and allow fellows and students to present their work to leading investigators.

We look forward to welcoming
you to Croatia!
