Cairns (Australia)
organized by: Joe Trapani and
Mark Smyth

The intention of this workshop is to gather relevant international speakers on the field, to present a real update of the  more recent  discoveries, and, at the same time, to maintain a small number of participants, around 100, to guarantee close contact between researchers.

Of importance , although the number of participants is restricted, it is the intention of organisers to keep at least a 50% participation of graduate studentes or young Ph.D.s to foster their interaction with established researchers in the field.

These workshops have been an important point of connection between the groups working on apoptosis and immunity, and a forum where important advances have been communicated for the first time, well before their publication.

During the last of those workshops, held in Cairns, Australia, in June 2005 and organized by Joe Trapani, it was decided to continue with this series of workshops in three year terms and to hold the next one in 2008.
