About the Workshop

This workshop will endeavour to bring together scientists working on diverse fields in order to create a forum for the proficient exchange of ideas and technical expertise and define a common ground of overlapping strategies for future experimentation.

It is becoming increasingly evident that common regulatory mechanisms are utilised during embryogenesis to control the development of diverse organ systems. This is particularly clear in the case of the haemopoietic and nervous systems which share molecular components of critical regulatory cascades. Despite recent progress towards the identification and characterisation of a plethora of molecules important for animal organogenesis, the extent to which similar molecular cascades are utilised by unrelated organ systems during embryogenesis remains elusive.
