Intracellular RNA transport and localization are well established as key processes in the development and function of organisms as diverse as yeast and vertebrates.

Localized mRNAs contribute to the body patterning of embryos, development of asymmetry in budding yeast, and the function of polarized neuronal cells.

The 2007 EMBO Workshop on Intracellular RNA Localization and Localized Translation willcover recent advances in the field of regulation of mRNA localizationand localized translation, integrating the latest findings and new perspectives, with a focus on development, neurobiology and the etiology of disease.

It will be timely, cutting-edge and of broad interest to all involved in the field of RNA-based regulation.
