Trains: 

Trains to Galway depart from Heuston station, Dublin via Athlone (http://www.irishrail.ie/home/)

 

Bus:

Galway is connected by public and private bus services to all parts of Ireland. The normal drop-off point for all these services is Galway city centre (in or near Eyre Square), though some of the private bus services will drop-off near NUI Galway if so requested (University Road or Newcastle Road).

By Air
Galway Airport is 8 km to the east of Galway city and has flights to Dublin and UK destinations, as well as some seasonal connections to continental Europe.  Taxis and a sporadic bus service connect the airport with Galway city. http://www.galwayairport.com/index


Shannon International Airport and Knock International Airport are both approximately 90 minutes’ drive from Galway city and have regular bus connections.


Dublin International Airport is approximately 3.5 hours’ drive from Galway city and has flight connections to Galway. A number of private bus services also operate connections from Dublin Airport to Galway city (City Link, GoBus), and public bus connections via the city centre are also available.
