Programme (summary and preliminary programme)
The course will last for 6 days (27 June - 3rd July, 2010 ) from Sunday evening to departure on Saturday and will follow the pattern of
the previous EMBO courses.
| In summary: | |||
• |
Each full day will consist of 3 hours of lectures 4.5 hours of hands-on practical work and finish with a 1 hour evaluation/feedback tutorial. |
||
• |
The first two full days will be a structured course aimed at familiarising the participants with the methods and equipment to be used. |
||
• |
The remaining time will be structured around the interests of the participants and will include studies of more advanced equipment and methods and studies of the participants’ own samples and data. |
||
• |
Each student will be assigned a personal tutor for the week (3 students per tutor) who will be responsible for contacting the student prior to the course, to discuss what experiments will be possible in the time available and to design a programme of study for each student. |
||
• |
The week will begin on Sunday evening with short presentations by the participants of their background and the experimental systems in which they are interested. |
||
• |
Friday afternoon will be taken up with the presentation by the participants of the results of the studies they have undertaken during the week. |
