About the Course

*Deadline for applications: April 30th, 2008

The primary objective of the practical course is to provide hands-on experience in the experimental workflow from construction of tissue microarrays to associated image analysis.

In addition, this course will also expose the course attendees to protein array technology.

These objectives will be met through a combination of seminars from local and international experts in the field, including several question and answer/discussion periods, together with practical experience in the laboratory and on the computer.

The course participants will observe and participate in the construction and use of tissue microarrays, with training being provided in all relevant steps from tissue processing, array fabrication, sectioning and immunohistochemical staining as well as training in protein array technology.

The courses will involve the use of advanced digital slide management approaches for rapid interpretation of immunohistochemical data.

Online demonstrations and tutorials dedicated for image analysis of tissue microarray data will be provided.
