About the Course

Chief objective of the course is to teach new molecular techniques in non-conventional animal models to students and postdocs in the evo-devo field.
Whenever possible, participants will be encouraged to transfer available techniques to their organism of choice. This is facilitated by the unique setting of a Marine Biological Station (Kristinebergs Marina Forskningsstation) that allows broad and efficient species sampling.

Major experimental focus will be on RNAi techniques, transgenesis, microinjection and wholemount in situ stainings. Moreover, all participants will conduct a DNA barcoding experiment on environmental samples to explore the local phylogenetic diversity. |
