FEBS YTF Grants

 

A total number of 20 YTF (see FEBS site for conditions and terms)  grants will be available.

 

These grants fully cover:


- all meeting costs (750 Euro)
- all travel expenses

 

and are available to participating students (PhD and postdoctoral fellows within five years of obtaining PhD).

Applicants should :

  1. either be registered as a student at an institution of higher learning in a country where there is a FEBS Constituent Society or be within five years of having completed a PhD thesis.

  2. must be a member of a national FEBS Constituent Society

  3. not have received a grant from the Youth travel fund to attend an Advanced course in the current year.

  4. Awards will only be made to persons travelling from their current country of residence to another country.

  5. Only in exceptional circumstances may any of these conditions be waived.

Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the YTF grants before February 15th  2009.

Applicants must:

a) Register for the meeting
b) Submit an abstract of their work to be presented at the meeting via the meeting registration site
c) Send an application letter, CV and at least one letter of recommendation to the meeting chair, Prof. dr. H.H. Kampinga (h.h.kampinga@med.umcg.nl).

Applications will be evaluated and ranked on the basis of quality by the organizers and the members of the scientific committee.  Applicants will be notified of the decisions before april 1st. Hereafter, original YTF forms will be forwarded to the selected students by the organizers.

 

Through these YTF Application Forms the selected candidates are asked to provide information on:

Personal data
In which country he/she is a student
Which FEBS Constituent Society he/she is a member of (proof of membership is mandatory)
Present position / present work / two recent publications if applicable
Amount of money requested (750 Euro) and any other financial support
Has he/she received a grant from FEBS in the past two years
Modes of payment
