NUCLEAR RECEPTORS:

from molecular mechanisms to molecular medicine

25 - 29 September | 2009 | Dubrovnik | Croatia

About the Conference

This biannual meeting traditionally brings together researchers from all over the world to meet in a pleasant resort of the Mediterranean to discuss developments on the field of nuclear hormone receptor research. This includes a wide spectrum from fundamental mechanistic studies to metabolism, clinical studies and drug development.

Nuclear receptors play central roles in development and adult physiology. They are acting on regulation of gene expression, orchestrating gene responses upon a wide variety of challenges.

As such, they contribute to many aspects of organism homeostasis and are first in line when considering disruption of this homeostasis and the means for correcting it.

Indeed, many of the nuclear receptors are activated through binding of ligand which are small lipophilic compounds, accessible to drug targeting.
