Gene transcription in yeast

19 - 24 June | 2010 |San Feliu de Guixols| Spain

About the Conference Series

Gene transcription is the central process responsible for the synthesis of cellular RNA. Its regulation underlies cell growth

and adaptation to changes in the environment.

The way we think about transcription and transcriptional regulation changes rapidly as the field moves from genetics and biochemistry to systems biology.

The main goal of this EMBO conference will be to discuss and integrate the latest information in the field of yeast transcription, covering the entire range of topics from molecular biology to functional genomics.

There are clear and well demonstrated advantages of yeast as a model system for the study of the transcription process, which is highly conserved from yeast to human. Many key findings in the field resulted from research in the yeast transcription field. Yeast will remain an important model system when the field moves towards molecular systems biology.
