About the Conference Series

The aim of this conference series is to bring investigators from oncological backgrounds (both basic and clinical) into close contact with equivalent leaders in proteomics approaches, with a view towards casting a translational framework by which proteomics investigations can advance our mechanistic understanding ofcancer-related processes and ultimately be utilised in a clinical context.

The focus of this event will be on state of art approaches in proteomics being applied to questions in cancer biology
.

With a programme including the highest calibre scientists in these areas,
we will aim to address the following topics:

(1) Signalling and Systems Biology

(2) Proteomics for Mechanistic Insight into Cancer

(3) Array-Based Technologies

(4) Informatics Approaches and Computational Biology

(5) Proteomics in Development of Anti-Cancer Therapeutics

(6) Cancer Biomarker Development.

The first of 3 conferences in this series is:

Cancer Proteomics 2009: Mechanistic Insights, Technological Advances & Molecular Medicine - University College Dublin, Ireland

The follow up events will take place at two year intervals:
Cancer Proteomics 2011: Systems Biology and Data Integration – European Bioinformatics Institute, United Kingdom
Cancer Proteomics 2013: Towards Clinical Implementation – Lund University, Sweden

Emerging investigator short talk

A number of places in the programme have been reserved for short talks from emerging investigators who submit high quality abstracts. Accommodation and travel expenses will be reimbursed for successful applicants to the emerging investigator short talks

Travel awards for highly ranked poster abstracts:

A travel grant of €500.00 will be awarded to the 10 highest ranked abstracts submitted by graduate students or postdoctoral fellows and selected for poster presentations
