The aim of this conference is to discuss all aspects related to the study of pre mRNA constitutive and alternative splicing in health and disease.
In particular:
Basic mechanism of pre mRNA processing |
The impact of splicing defects in human pathology |
Complexity of the spliceosomal proteomes: structural and molecular determinants. |
The impact of pre mRNA processing defects in human hereditary disorders, cancer, neurodegerative diseases and viral infection. |
Cis and trans acting factors involved in the regulation of constitutive and alternative splicing. |
Identification of disease-causing splicing mutations in genomic screenings. |
Co-transcriptional mechanism of alternative splicing . |
In-silico approaches to detect pre mRNA splicing abnormalities. |
Post-translational modification and intracellular dynamics of splicing factors. |
Animal models to study aberrant splicing defects and splicing isoform function. |
Evolutionary aspects of alternative splicing. |
New strategies for the correction of splicing defects. |
